Our agency is looking for a policy on Shared Leave. We are looking at creating a policy that will allow our employees to donate annual leave for fellow employees who suffer a catasrophic illness or injury and have used all of their accured leave. If anyone has a model that they are willing to share we would greatly appreciate it.

I am looking for a "go-by" form to request audit proposals. Noel is a small PHA with only public housing units. I understand that HUD expects HAs to rotate CPAs for a "healthy" organization. Has anyone done this before?

I am looking at online, offsite backup. Our fee accountant, Lindsey recommends Divinsa.

Do any of you use them or know anything about the company? Their website offers a 15-day free trial. But if you never need to replace information, how will you know whether or not it actually works?

Does anyone have any other suggestions for online, offsite backup systems?

Contracting Snow Removal

We're looking at contracting out snow removal this winter. Even without 18 inches of snow on the ground, our guys spend up to a week shoveling - a week when they are not turning units or doing regular work orders. Is anyone else contracting snow removal? And what do your leases say you will do for snow removal? Our guys are stuck shoveling everything including the front porches. At our place, that's miles of sidewalk. Thanks!

I have another question. Does anyone have proof anywhere that you cannot require a higher security depoist for smokers? HUD field office isn't sure either. Would like to implement if we can.
